10th Anniversary Concert

Please note the time of the 10th Anniversary Concert has been changed to 1:30pm. The Fox Valley Academy of Music Performance and director, Katheryn Barrett-Brown, will perform a concert in commemoration of our organization’s 10th anniversary. The Academy Orchestra will perform composer Peter Heidrich’s Happy Birthday Variations which sets the familiar tune in the various styles of famous composers throughout music history. This year’s Academy Concerto Competition Winner, Clare Scheidler – of Aurora will present Vivaldi’s passionate Violin Concerto, La Stavaganza. Also on the program, the Youth Strings will bring new life to well-known compositions of other Baroque and Classical composers. Enjoy an uplifting experience in the welcoming venue of Bethlehem Church in St. Charles. Donations are appreciated.
The Fox Valley Philharmonic Orchestra, and director Maryann Flock, will display a broad spectrum of virtuosic music at a 3pm concert. The Fox Valley Academy Concerto Competition Winner, sixteen-year old Clare Scheidler of Aurora, will perform Vivaldi’s passionate Violin Concerto, La Stravaganza, “The Eccentric,” and Concerto Competition Runner-Up, nine-year old Sofia Radovic of St. Charles, will perform Vivaldi’s fiery, Concerto in A minor. The brilliant pianist, Kevin Wong of Chicago will delight the audience with Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in D minor. In addition, Mendelssohn’s contemporary, Joachim Raff composed a Sinfornietta for double woodwind quintet. The Philharmonic Winds will delight the audience with this work profoundly influenced by the compositional style of Mendelssohn.
Bethlehem church is located just a few blocks northeast of Main Street and the Fox River, with plenty of parking available. Donations are welcomed.
