KEVIN WONG began his piano studies at the age of six with Marilyn Andersen. His piano teachers include Linda Camp, Gerald Stofsky, Winston Choi, and Pawel Checinski. Kevin also studied organ with David Christiansen and jazz piano with Skip Green and Frank Caruso. Kevin is an active teacher and has received Suzuki certification through book three. He studied with Fay Adams, Caroline Fraser, and Rita Hauk. Kevin also has a certificate in Piano Pedagogy from Elmhurst College where he studied under Wendy Unrath. He has studied the Taubman approach with Teresa Dybvig and continues to research piano technique and movement. As a church musician, Kevin works at Morgan Park Methodist Church where his repertoire includes Gospel, Spiritual, and Traditional church music. As a musician on the south side of Chicago, Kevin is involved with community building as he is an accompanist and board member for the Greater Chicago Opera Guild. He also accompanies the Pullman and Pilgrim’s Choruses. Kevin Wong received graduate and undergraduate degrees in piano, music, and German from Roosevelt University and Elmhurst College. In addition to teaching at DePaul University’s Community Music Division, Kevin is also an adjunct instructor at Moraine Valley Community College.
