Fox Valley Flutes

Fox Valley Flutes

The Fox Valley Flutes provides a flute choir experience for middle school and high school musicians. This ensemble focuses on developing chamber ensemble skills with special emphasis on listening skills to improve intonation, phrasing, articulation and tone quality. Students will work on challenging repertoire and perform in concerts three times per year. Special community outreach concerts may also be planned.

In the event of an opening in the Fox Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra or the Fox Valley Academy Orchestra flute section, members of the Fox Valley Flutes will have the first opportunity to audition to fill the position.

Students should be able to play scales (C, G, D, A, E, F, Bb and Eb plus c minor and g minor in melodic form) in two octaves, be able to play with vibrato and double and triple tongue. Piccolo skills are helpful.

The Fox Valley Flutes rehearse on Sunday afternoons from 3 to 4 pm at Aurora Christian School, 2255 Sullivan Road in Aurora.
